• Queens Lake Sunrise

  I was on location before dawn to capture the earliest light over the lake. The video was recorded entirely on a Mavic 4 Pro; the stills are a mix of aerial frames and ground shots from a Nikon Z6. The intent here was simple: calm visuals, natural colour, and space — no gimmicks.

• Port Macquarie Drone

  Port Macquarie Drone Videography | Sunset over Hastings River & CBD Night Aerials

  There’s no better way to experience Port Macquarie than from the air. Drone videography opens up a perspective that captures both the wide beauty of the Hastings River at sunset and the vibrant life of the CBD after dark.

  In this new film, I set out over Westport as the sun dipped below the horizon. The Hastings River came alive with colour — soft reflections, golden tones, and a calm that’s unique to this part of the Mid North Coast. From above, the boats and shoreline create patterns you simply can’t see from the ground.

  As night settled in, the focus shifted to the heart of Port Macquarie. Clarence Street and the Town Green transformed under the glow of streetlights, with people moving through the CBD and the water still carrying traces of the day’s light. Filming in low light pushed the Mavic 4 Pro to its limits, but the result is crisp, detailed aerial footage that captures the energy and atmosphere of Port Macquarie after dark.

  This project is a great example of what drone videography can offer — whether it’s showcasing landscapes, highlighting tourism, or telling the visual story of a town from a fresh angle.

• Tacking Point Lighthouse

  A short flight at Tacking Point captured this set of aerials of the headland at Tacking Point Lighthouse in Port Macquarie. The footage focuses on the lighthouse, the rocky headland and the coastline — quiet, minimal framing to give the scene space to breathe. Shot on a Mavic 4 Pro with simple grading to keep tones soft and natural.

  Tacking Point is one of Port Macquarie’s most photographed spots — a compact historic lighthouse on a dramatic cliff that makes for strong, calm drone compositions.

• Camden Haven Inlet Boardwalk

  The Camden Haven River Boardwalk at Dunbogan is the newest section of the Beach-to-Beach Shared Pathway — an approximately 11-kilometre continuous route connecting North Haven Beach, Laurieton and Pilot Beach at Camden Head. It gives walkers, riders, prams and mobility users a safe, scenic way to trace the inlet and explore the villages that make the Camden Haven so special.

  What’s new at Dunbogan

  The Dunbogan boardwalk (Section D5) carries the path over the water near Dunbogan Reserve, removing a pinch-point on The Boulevarde and delivering those classic river-and-mountain views toward Dooragan (North Brother). The design includes wider bays so people can pause, pass safely or cast a line without obstructing the flow.

  Construction of the boardwalk was completed in August 2025. It uses marine-grade aluminium sub-frames and composite decking for durability, a non-slip surface, and integrated lighting — a low-maintenance approach that suits the tidal setting. The walking deck is generally 2.5 m wide with 5m widened sections for viewing and fishing.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  How the Beach-to-Beach route fits together

  Beach-to-Beach links North Haven, Laurieton and Dunbogan all the way to Pilot Beach at the southern breakwall. The route threads riverfront promenades, local streets and new shared-path segments into a single experience — ideal for a relaxed half-day explore or bite-sized village hops.

• Sunrise Serenity at Flynns Beach

  This morning, Flynns Beach offered a rare moment of tranquility. With the IRONMAN Australia event in full swing and road closures in place, the usual morning bustle gave way to peaceful shores bathed in golden light.
