Port Macquarie Drone Videography | Sunset over Hastings River & CBD Night Aerials
There’s no better way to experience Port Macquarie than from the air. Drone videography opens up a perspective that captures both the wide beauty of the Hastings River at sunset and the vibrant life of the CBD after dark.
In this new film, I set out over Westport as the sun dipped below the horizon. The Hastings River came alive with colour — soft reflections, golden tones, and a calm that’s unique to this part of the Mid North Coast. From above, the boats and shoreline create patterns you simply can’t see from the ground.
As night settled in, the focus shifted to the heart of Port Macquarie. Clarence Street and the Town Green transformed under the glow of streetlights, with people moving through the CBD and the water still carrying traces of the day’s light. Filming in low light pushed the Mavic 4 Pro to its limits, but the result is crisp, detailed aerial footage that captures the energy and atmosphere of Port Macquarie after dark.
This project is a great example of what drone videography can offer — whether it’s showcasing landscapes, highlighting tourism, or telling the visual story of a town from a fresh angle.
